Bauchi ACReSAL Expands Collaboration with Bauchi State Ministry of Education

The Bauchi State Agro-climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project has strengthened its partnership with the Bauchi State Ministry of Education to establish plant nurseries in schools across the state’s 20 LGAs. This collaboration was formalized during a visit by ACReSAL’s State Project Coordinator, Dr. Ibrahim Kabir, to Commissioner for Education, Dr. Jamila Dahiru.

Dr. Dahiru assured full support for the initiative, which aligns with the Ministry’s goals of environmental awareness and sustainability. ACReSAL plans to set up Plant Nursery Development Centers in schools, particularly targeting secondary schools in underserved LGAs, and promote the “One Person One Tree Project.”

ACReSAL will provide seedlings and capacity-building programs for staff. Officials emphasized the importance of engaging students in environmental activities to secure a sustainable future. Dr. Dahiru expressed enthusiasm for the partnership and committed to monitoring the projects to ensure their success. The collaboration aims to integrate climate resilience into Bauchi State’s educational framework
